An Android device is very useful to have if you use many services offered by Google. With the latest trend of manufacturers releasing bigger and bigger screens, an Android device has also become a great tool for productivity. One of the questions that I’ve been asked the most from my colleagues, whom might have an Android phone but also have an Apple iPad, is that, how they can view their iCloud calendars and contacts on their Android device. Well, out of the box, an Android device doesn’t have an easy way to do this. Fortunately, as with most cases, there’s an app to help you do just that.

To view your iCloud calendar on an Android device, download SmoothSync for Cloud Calendar from the Google Play Store. The app is very simple to use and I can attest to this. All you have to do is, launch the app once it is downloaded and log in using your iCloud account. Then choose the calendars that you’d like to view and let it do its thing.

As for your iCloud contacts, download SmoothSync for Cloud Contacts, from the same developer, and repeat all the above steps. Your Android device should populate with your iCloud contacts before you know it.

This is also still a great way to view shared calendars from friends, family or colleagues who are using Apple devices. With these apps, you are not limited to just viewing. You can also add new contacts and events to iCloud. One thing to note, these apps will not sync your iCloud calendars with your Google calendars or your iCloud contacts with your Gmail contacts. All these do is enabling you to view and edit iCloud calendars and contacts on your Android device.
